Provost's Course Redesign Competition![]() Sara Rathburn, 2006-2007 Recipient 2009-10 Grant Documents Call for Proposals: 2009-2010 CompetitionThe Institute is currently accepting pre-proposals for the 2009-1010 academic year course redesign competition. Please note the change in this year's competition. Rather than awarding grants on the basis of a proposed redesign of a course or courses, grants will be awarded on the basis of a clear problem definition and rationale for redesign. Winners of the competition will be named TILT Teaching Fellows for the 2009-1010 academic year and will participate in a series of weekly professional development meetings in February and early March 2009 to prepare for the redesign of courses. In March and April 2009, the Teaching Fellows will work with TILT instructional designers to develop a course redesign plan and project budget. The Teaching Fellows will meet regularly as a group through the 2009-1010 academic year to share progress on their projects. Submission Deadline and Format: The deadline for pre-proposals is 1:00 pm, Monday, October 6, 2008. Proposals should be submitted electronically. Please send your proposal as an attachment (PDF or Word format) to an email message to Shirley Guitron, Institute administrative assistant, at Shirley.Guitron@ColoState.edu. Original signature pages should be sent via campus mail to Shirley Guitron at the Institute for Learning and Teaching, A071 Andrew Clark Building. 2008-09 Grant Documents 2008-2009 CompetitionThe following projects were selected for funding: Course: AGRI 116/IE 116 Plants and Civilizations Course: BZ220 Introduction to Evolution Course: CHEM 113 General Chemistry II and CHEM 114 General Chemistry Laboratory II Course: EDUC 275 Schooling in the United States Course: HES 207 Anatomical Kinesiology Course: Math 141 Calculus in the Management Sciences Course: MATH 160 Calculus for Physical Scientists I 2007-08 Grant Documents 2007-2008 CompetitionThe following projects were selected for funding: Course: Chemistry 341 Modern Organic Chemistry I Course: Civil Engineering 202 Numerical Modeling and Risk Analysis Course: Design and Merchandising 120 Textiles Course: Economics 202 Principles of Microeconomics Courses:: Biology 320 and LAND/SOCR 220 General Ecology Course: Math 141 Calculus in the Management Sciences Course: Speech 200 Public Speaking 2006-07 Grant Documents 2006-2007 CompetitionThe following projects were selected for funding: Courses: Computer Science 160 (Foundations in Programming), 161 (Object Oriented Problem Solving), and 200 (Data Structures and Algorithms) Course: Geology 120 Exploring Earth: Physical Geology Course: Life Sciences 210 Introductory Eukaryotic Cell Biology Course: Mathematics 161 Calculus II for Physical Scientists Course: Physics 141 and 142 Course: Psychology 250 For more information about TILT's grant competitions, please contact us at (970) 491-3132 or TILT@ColoState.edu. |
