Provost's Course Redesign Competition
Sara Rathburn
2006-2007 Recipient
The Institute for Learning and Teaching administers the Provost's Course Redesign Competition. This annual competition is designed to enhance student learning and promote pedagogical innovation through the redesign of core, foundational, and gateway courses. The redesign process should be led by faculty members who are actively involved in teaching the courses. The process will be supported by consultation with instructional designers from TILT. Up to $15,000 can be requested to support redesign of a course or a sequence of related courses. Pre-proposals for course redesign are invited from all programs that offer core, foundational, or gateway courses. A limited number of proposals are selected for resubmission in revised form.
Call for Proposals: 2010-2011 Competition
The Institute is currently accepting pre-proposals for the 2010-2011 academic year course redesign competition. Successful proposals will provide a clear problem definition and rationale for redesign. Winners of the competition will be named TILT Teaching Fellows for the 2010-2011 academic year and will participate in a series of weekly professional development meetings in February and early March 2010 to prepare for the redesign of courses. In March and April 2010, the Teaching Fellows will work with TILT instructional designers to develop a course redesign plan and project budget. The Teaching Fellows will meet regularly as a group through the 2010-2011 academic year to share progress on their projects.
Submission Deadline and Format:
The deadline for pre-proposals is 1:00 pm, Monday, October 5, 2009. Proposals should be submitted electronically. Please send your proposal as an attachment (PDF or Word format) to an email message to Shirley Guitron, Institute administrative assistant, at Shirley.Guitron@ColoState.edu. Original signature pages should be sent via campus mail to Shirley Guitron at the Institute for Learning and Teaching, Campus Delivery 1052.
