Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarship Programs at Colorado State University
The Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarship Programs offers assistance to Colorado State University undergraduate students in applying for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships.
These scholarships have minimum requirements, including grade point average, specific discipline, degree program, career goals, and extracurricular activities. Some are available to undergraduate students, while some provide funding for graduating students planning to attend graduate school.
This website has descriptions for many national competitive scholarships. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the scholarship requirements via the website and to work with Fellowship Advisor Heather Esterday in preparing a strong application.
Preparation of a competitive application can begin as early as four months prior to the application deadline. This allows time to work with faculty and staff on revising and polishing your application. The required essays are a critical component of the application process and are closely reviewed by the selection committees. The Fellowship Advisor is available to assist you in choosing the scholarship that is the right fit, brainstorming essay ideas, and providing essay feedback and suggestions.
In addition, some scholarships require you to be nominated by the institution. Please contact the office for more information about the nomination process.
