Student Application
(Applications still being accepted)
This Alternative Spring Break trip provides an in-depth, hands-on look at the history of the Civil Rights Movement, from the 1960s to the present. The purpose is to link this history with social struggles that still exist today so that we can imagine ways to mindfully participate in the ongoing movement for equality and social change. We will visit multiple historical sites, talk with key leaders in the movement, participate in community service, and reflect upon the impact and power of a collective people. The trip will wrap up in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans with the non-profit group Common Ground Relief.
Trip Highlights include visits to the following historical sites:
- Topeka, Kansas
- Oxford, Mississippi
- Selma, Alabama
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Birmingham, Alabama
- Montgomery, Alabama
- New Orleans, Louisiana
Applications are still being accepted!
Applications can be found HERE.
