Are you interested in knowing more about how "service-learning" is defined and practiced at CSU? Are you interested in facilitating a service-learning experience for your students, or just wishing you knew where to refer students seeking quality, community-based learning experiences on the curricular or co-curricular level? If so, this workshop is for you.
This seminar will provide a general overview of service-learning pedagogy, including best practices, as well as discuss a range of curricular and co-curricular models and programs that currently exist on the CSU campus. We will discuss some of the resources available to CSU faculty and staff(through the Office of Service-Learning and SLiCE Office) who wish to facilitate service-learning experiences for students. We will also talk about how to encourage students to get involved in service-learning, including information about where to send them to find quality community-learning experiences on and off-campus.

1. to provide an overview of service-learning pedagogy and models, including best practices
2. to discuss various models of curricularly integrated service-learning experiences as they exist at CSU - from introductory classes to senior capstones.
3. to share information about co-curricular service-learning programs and experiences that currently exist on campus
4. To introduce resources and opportunities available to CSU faculty and staff who wish to participate in and/or develop service-learning experiences for students
5. To share information about where to refer students to find out about a full range of community service and service-learning opportunties available through CSU programs.
