Description:
We will discuss what we learned at last summer's HHMI AAAS summer teaching workshop in Boulder. We were taught a new technique called Backwards Design for improving student outcomes. Basically the instructor designs learning outcomes (what do I want my students to be able to DO?) rather than topics, and then designs the instruction to achieve these goals.
