It seems that almost every day there is an item in the news about the benefits of yoga, from stress release to relieving low back pain, flexibility, strength, better balance, improved sleep, and more. But entering the world of yoga can be intimidating for beginning students. In this session, you'll learn how to demystify yoga including: how and why Sanskrit language is used; styles of yoga and how to pick the best one for you; how yoga's history impacts today's current practices; useful reference materials; and much more. You'll leave with a better understanding of all aspects of yoga, and learn the best way to start incorporating the many benefits of yoga into your life.
Goals and Target Audience:
The goal of this session is to provide a basic introduction to the practice of yoga, and answer the many questions surrounding beginning a yoga practice so that participants can enjoy the health and wellbeing that a yoga practice can provide. This workshop will help people interested in beginning a yoga practice but unsure of where to start, as well as those confused by the choices available.
