Our session will focus on best practices for developing course content in the new Blackboard (Bb) 9 interface for RamCT. We will de-mystify the new Bb 9 experience for faculty and instructors by providing a hands-on training. We will cover how to create a new course, training module, and lesson plan. We will also highlight the tools in Bb 9 that incorporate the principles of Universal Design for Learning—allowing our students to learn via multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement. Ultimately, we will design our course with the student in mind.
Goals and Target Audience:
Our goal is to provide faculty the knowledge and skillset to develop a new course in Blackboard (Bb) 9 that is based on the practice of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We want faculty to be able to create a new course in Bb 9 in a logical, well-structured format while providing the best learning environment for the student. We will design with the student in mind, but simplify the design process for the instructor.
