This presentation will outline and synthesize several ideas that can be used both inside and outside the classroom to create an environment full of energy. Some of these tips will help you stay energized as the instructor and others will help energize the students so that they will want to stay tuned into the content.

-Talk about the common problems instructors face with keeping students engaged -Share ideas on how to promote attention -Give examples and tips on how to recapture student attention -Promote new ways of designing a presentation that will keep students engaged with the content

Start Time:
10:45 AM
Session Length:
1 Hour
Room:

Description:
What do Professional Sports Agents and CSU’s Registrar’s Office Degree Analysts have in common? More than you would think! Between assisting with team transfers (transfer evaluation), advising players (students) about their best options, working with other “agents” (academic coordinators) to look at all options, helping to sign contracts (for graduation), and supporting the goals of everyone in the league to make it to the championship (students earning their diploma)… Degree Analysts are constantly on the go; ready and willing to help the Rams we all support get that diploma in hand!
Goals and Target Audience:
Inform the campus community, primarily advisors and department staff, of what one unit of the Registrar's Office is responsible for and our direct connection to the student - not just regarding registration. We evaluate transcripts from other institutions and confer degrees for graduation. We are there from the beginning to the end and there are many aspects of our job that people around campus are not aware of. I want to bring that to as many people, advisors, staff, faculty - so that we can be one more resource and partner with them to increase retention and improve graduation rates!
