Description:
Credit card breaches at major retailers have become commonplace. Many of us have experienced credit card fraud firsthand, whether through actual fraudulent charges or through the hassle of having credit cards re-issued by the banks. Is there anything we can do to make ourselves safer when shopping at physical store locations and online? Steve Lovaas, IT Security Manager for CSU, will highlight what's going on in the world of credit card security, and share tips and technologies that can reduce the risk of becoming a credit card victim.
Goals and Target Audience:
This is a general session that assumes basic knowledge of using a web browser to shop online. Attendees will leave with an increased awareness of credit card threats and current defenses, and with a list of recommended alternative payment approaches.
