eID WebAuth will no longer be supported starting July 1, 2017. ACNS is replacing WebAuth with Shibboleth as the central authentication system for Colorado State University. Learn about federated authentication and how to install a Shibboleth Service Provider in a Linux OS. Session topics include: * Shibboleth overview * Installation and configuration of a prototype Shibboleth Service Provider (Linux) * Connecting a Shibboleth Service Provider to the CSU Federation * Protecting web-delivered resources on the web server This is a hands-on session. You must bring a laptop to complete the outlined tasks.
Goals and Target Audience:
This session will provide attendees technical installation and configuration experience with a Shibboleth service provider. Content has been developed for CSU IT professionals new to Shibboleth, or for individuals assuming responsibilities at their college or department with existing Shibboleth deployments.

Description:
The 2013 implementation of the State of Colorado’s Advancing Students for a Stronger Economy Tomorrow (ASSET) legislation has made it possible for eligible students who are undocumented to pursue a higher education. This session will highlight how Colorado State University implemented the ASSET legislation and how CSU has been assisting students who are undocumented. The session will cover the following: · The historical, social and political context of how state and federal policies have impacted college access · Important terminology · Resources CSU has implemented to assist students who are undocumented · Student stories highlighting the ways CSU students who are undocumented positively impact our campus Participants will be sent general information before the session.
Goals and Target Audience:
This four-hour training is for anyone who would like to know more about how to assist these students.

At some point we may be faced with an emergency situation, such as medical, natural disaster, fire, biological/chemical/radiation exposure, etc. which will cause a disruption in the workplace. Sometimes these are large and take some time. Do you know your department's plan for events at work that could be dangerous or interrupt your schedules and facilities, or maybe even cause injuries? Let's talk.
Goals and Target Audience:
To learn whether your department has a plan. If not, develop a basic outline. To learn how to engage employees with the most likely emergency situations that could occur in your department. To learn what your role is in addressing emergency issues. To learn about the need for after action reviews and ‘head and heart’ recovery. To develop a 'pocket plan' for yourself to overcome any disruptive emergency situation. All CSU employees can use the skills developed and 'renewed' in this class. One hour class with ability to hold small group discussions.

In the spring of 2016, focus groups were conducted with new CSU faculty to gather information about their experience of settling into their new jobs. The findings suggest that we could do a better job to prepare our new faculty for the challenges of teaching, research, learning the culture and building relationships with colleagues. Come learn how to address some of the obstacles new faculty identified and share what best practices you have in your department that are making a difference. This will be an interactive workshop that will provide you with draft plan you can take back to your area to make your new faculty’s transition more successful.
Goals and Target Audience:
Deans and department heads responsible for onboarding new faculty.
