Tuesday, January 15th 2019
The purpose of this session is to give a brief introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI). We will review the principles involved and do some skill-building exercises to help participants use these approaches to speak and act toward positive change. The presenters will share briefly how the techniques are used in different settings, talk about some of the science of eliciting internal motivation, and consider together how to use MI to work with students in each of our departments.
Goals and Target Audience:
Anyone interested to learn about skills and attitudes for engaging in conversations that lead to positive behavior change.
