Interested in hiring student employee(s)? Are you curious about the next steps? Join us to learn some tips and techniques on recruiting students, writing job descriptions, and the interview process that will help you find the best applicant(s) for your role(s). This is the one of four workshops that cover the student employee hiring basics, as part of the four core courses in the ELEVATE: Student Supervision Focus Certificate
Goals and Target Audience:
• Participants will be able to identify at least three different advertising avenues to post open student positions to attract a more diverse and robust applicant pool. • Participants will be able to construct a job description that promotes equal opportunities for employment to all students. • Participants will be able to develop a system to assess and interview candidates that accounts for unconscious bias and works to minimize coded language. Audience: FT/PT staff and faculty who hire student staff members, HR Liaisons
