Dr. Matthew Rhodes of CSU’s Psychology department titled “Common Mythes of College Teaching” where he will debunk prevalent misconceptions about college teaching and share research-backed strategies to enhance learning and instructional effectiveness.

Bio: Matthew Rhodes is a Professor of Psychology at Colorado State University. His research focuses on memory, metacognition, and evidence-based approaches to learning and training.  He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal Experimental Psychology: Applied; Metacognition and Learning; and the Journal of Memory and Language. Dr. Rhodes is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition.  He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 3) and the Association for Psychological Science, has received several awards for teaching and student mentoring, and teaches the class “Evidence-Based Approaches to College Instruction”. Dr. Rhodes is also an author, with Anne Cleary and Edward DeLosh, of the book A Guide to Effective Studying and Learning: Practical Strategies from the Science of Learning (2020; Oxford University Press)
