Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to outstanding sophomore and junior students who plan to pursue careers in natural science, mathematics or engineering.
Up to two years, depending on student’s class level
Amount of Support
A maximum of $7,500 per year to cover the following eligible expenses: undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board.
Students interested in applying for this award need to contact Mary Swanson, CSU's Nationally Competitive Scholarship Advisor to receive a campus nomination. Students are encouraged to contact Mary at least four months before the national deadline.
Meet CSU's Goldwater Scholars
Candidates must be nominated by the University. This may involve a competitive process to narrow the pool of candidates. This scholarship requires three letters of recommendation.
- Outstanding academic record
- Major in math, natural science or engineering
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- U.S. Citizen
- Candidates must be nominated by the university. CSU may nominate up to four students per year.
