George J. Mitchell Postgraduate Scholarship

Students interested in applying for this award need to contact Mary Swanson, CSU's Nationally Competitive Scholarship Advisor to receive a campus nomination. Students are encouraged to contact Mary at least six months before the national deadline.
The George J. Mitchell Scholarship is a nationally competitive fellowship sponsored by the US-Ireland Alliance. The Mitchell Scholarship is designed to introduce and connect generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to public service and community.
Applicants are judged on three criteria: academic excellence, leadership, and a sustained commitment to service and community. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and must have completed their bachelor’s degree prior to beginning study in Ireland.
Amount of Support
The Mitchell Scholarship provides tuition, housing, a living expenses stipend, and an international travel stipend. This scholarship is for study in Ireland or Northern Ireland.
Note: This scholarship requires a minimum of five letters of recommendation and candidates must be endorsed by the University.
