Training Seminar for New Graduate Teaching Assistants: Fall Semester 2018

The Goal

In the ongoing effort to enhance the effectiveness of undergraduate teaching and learning at Colorado State University, the goal of this annual required GTA Training is to equip every incoming GTA with basic institutional knowledge about CSU, review current learning and teaching Best Practices, and introduce a wide variety of resources that will help further their career as a CSU graduate teaching assistant.

Required Training Modules

Be On the Lookout: You will receive an email with links to each of the required online training modules that you must complete prior to the August 13th seminar.

GTA Orientation Luncheon

On the Agenda

The content will address universal teaching issues and introduce students to best practices in pedagogy. Content will be clearly focused on modeling best practice strategies.

Strategies for enhancing teaching, learning, and academic integrity, assessment of student performance, and a review of GTA responsibilities and expectations are included.

In addition, incoming GTAs will be introduced to many of the campus resources that support effective teaching and learning.
