Anastasia Williams joined TILT as the Director of Teaching Excellence in 2024. She earned her PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Brown University, where she also gained extensive experience in faculty development as a head teaching consultant at the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning.

At CSU, Anastasia leads initiatives to enhance teaching effectiveness, promote inclusive teaching practices, and support faculty in implementing evidence-based pedagogical strategies.

Prior to CSU, Anastasia served as Assistant Director at the University of Iowa’s Center for Teaching, where she led programs on inclusive teaching, course design, and universal design for learning. She founded the Inclusive Teaching in Practice and Students as Partners program. Anastasia’s scholarly interests include equitable teaching, UDL and accessibility, and co-creating with departments and undergraduate students to foster inclusive learning environments.

Anastasia has published in Tomorrow’s Professor and is an active member of the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network and the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE).

She has taught Russian language, literature, and culture courses at Brown University and Indiana University. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga and meditation.
