Program Goals
Our Learning Assistant (LA) Program is based on the evidence-informed, internationally-recognized LA model of peer-to-peer academic support. CSU’s LA Program is actively involved with the Learning Assistant Alliance in order to collaborate with other institutions in implementing the model with fidelity. The essential elements of the LA model are practice, preparation, and pedagogy.
Our program goals and priorities include:
- Implement the LA model with fidelity
- Create equitable educational environments by increasing active learning, student engagement, learning gains, and persistence
- Facilitate a formative employment experience for undergraduate students who work as Learning Assistants
- Contribute to institutional change by developing the necessary infrastructure to support innovative instruction
