Sessions are flexible based on your needs. A typical consultation is 30-60 minutes, though we can adjust the length depending on what you’d like to explore.
You choose! Options include: in-person at TILT, in-person at your department, a walking consultation on the Oval, virtual via Teams, or an email exchange.
Yes! Many instructors work with us over multiple sessions, especially for ongoing projects like course redesign or developing teaching portfolios. There’s no limit — we’re here to provide ongoing support throughout the semester and across your teaching career.
Absolutely. Consultations are completely confidential and voluntary. We don’t share information with supervisors, departments, or use it in evaluations. Our goal is to create a safe space for open reflection and growth focused on your goals.
Not required, but it can be helpful to bring materials related to your consultation topic, such as your syllabus, course materials you’re working on, or specific questions or challenges you’d like to discuss.
Absolutely! You don’t need to have everything figured out. Sometimes the best consultations start with “something isn’t quite working” or “I want to try something new but don’t know where to start.” We’ll help you identify areas for exploration together. Some of our best brainstorms happen while walking on the Oval – you can request this format if you’d like.
Reach out anyway! While we’ve listed common consultation topics, we support a wide range of teaching and learning questions. If we can’t help directly, we’ll connect you with the right resource at CSU.
