AI and Information Literacy: Supporting Student Research and Critical Thinking

As AI tools become more prevalent, they are having greater impacts on the information and research landscape. This presentation will discuss possible uses of Large Language Models in the research process, including examples of research-related outputs generated by CSU-GPT and other LLMs. We will examine LLM content and discuss the implications for the information landscape that students are navigating. We will also discuss the evolving role of information evaluation and the skills and strategies students will need to critically evaluate and engage with AI-generated content.
