Can AI be Helpful for Students? Explore AI-enhanced Learning using Teaching Effectiveness Framework

The session will be a collective reflection exercise. I will introduce how AI became a key theme in my TEI reflections and how reflection led me to explore innovative uses of AI in teaching. I will use the reflection I did for a workshop on AI as an example. Participants will collectively identify domains of the TEF where AI techniques can be applied. We will begin by discussing how students in Warner College may have used – and will continue to use – AI. Then, we will explore how AI can support active learning, critical thinking development, coding, and business development, as well as which types of evidence to collect for evaluating effective AI use. We will conclude the session with a discussion on unintended consequences.

Outcome: Develop ideas to use AI to enhance teaching and learning

TEF Domain Alignment: Pedagogical Content Knowledge
