Presenter Name and Title: Kristy Nowak, MLIS, First-year Experience and Student Success Librarian

Presentation Description: ChatGPT and other large language models have the potential to change how people interact with information and research. In this session, we will examine how ChatGPT has influenced the information landscape, including sources, information evaluation, research strategies, and the role of citation. We will discuss different models for evaluating information, including the CRAAP and SIFT methods, and how people can find more reliable information online. We’ll also discuss impacts for traditional research assignments and discuss process-based assignments. This session will include a discussion of available library resources, including research tools and guides to support student success and information literacy skills.
