AI and Student Writing

The session will focus on evidence of teaching pedagogy and its implications related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr. Tian Guo will share how AI became a key theme in her TEI reflections, with its impact on student motivation and critical thinking. Through a TILT Writing Across Curriculum fellowship, Dr. Guo experimented with two in-class writing activities that bridge personal experience and disciplinary content and promote reflective and responsible uses of generative AI. She will discuss the impacts of the activities and future steps as well as share her experience with the CSU Teaching Effective Initiative Program (TEI).
