Writing a Teaching Philosophy Presentation

As instructors in higher education, it is increasingly important to have an individual teaching philosophy when applying for college or university faculty positions or when undergoing promotion reviews. This workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn about best practices in creating a teaching philosophy and analyze sample teaching philosophies from different disciplines.

Outcomes:
-Learn best practices for writing a teaching philosophy.
-Learn the basic structure of a teaching philosophy and central information that should be included in one.
-Collaboratively discuss and analyze sample teaching philosophies.

This session aligns with the Classroom Climate domain of the TILT Teaching Effectiveness Framework. It is open to all CSU faculty, postdocs, staff, and graduate students and is a required workshop for the Graduate Student and Postdoc Teaching Certificates of Completion.
